Chakaa - The first Swiss Social Investment Portal
Important Terms
- Expert
A chakaa expert has the possibility to setup a security portfolio. Via stocks and ETFs search the expert can trade securities with the virtual assets (100’000 CHF). Chakaa calculates daily returns for the portfolio and computes the chakaa IQ. On a daily basis it is possible to compare experts and to exchange news.
- Investor
A chakaa investor has the possibility to allocate (virtual) assets to chakaa experts in order to participate directly in the daily returns. After the first allocation to the expert all transactions will be copied/mirrored to the investor portfolio. This enables the investor to easily buy and sell expert holdings.
- Watch list and Follower
If I have found an interesting expert I can put his/her profile on my watch list by clicking follow. From now on I can see this profile on my profile and I can track his transactions and performance.
- Comment
In the comment field I can inform other users about my philosophy, general attitude or comments to topics of interest.
- Chakaa-IQ
The chakaa IQ is a key figure that indicates the ability of the expert relative to his ability to other experts. Basis of the chakaa IQ is the risk/return ratio that is calculated for all experts. The risk/return ratio is calculated from the return vs. the realized risk of the expert portfolio since inception. The realized risk is a figure that shows how stable (volatile) the income of the portfolio was over time.
The chakaa IQ is calculated on a daily basis. A good expert (e.g. high return, low risk, low volatility) receives a figure between 150 and 250. An expert with a low chakaa IQ can be found around 50 to 100. A low IQ can be changed quickly for example if an expert is able to generate more return and a reduction of risk.
- Exchange Traded Fund - ETF
Wikipedia describes ETF as follows: „An exchange-traded fund (ETF) is an investment fund traded on stock exchanges, much like stocks. An ETF holds assets such as stocks, commodities, or bonds, and trades close to its net asset value over the course of the trading day. Most ETFs track an index, such as the S&P 500 or MSCI EAFE. ETFs may be attractive as investments because of their low costs, tax efficiency, and stock-like features. ETFs are the most popular type of exchange-traded product.” more
- Stock information and prices
We are a free website that provides investment ideas. We are not a data service. Therefore the stock and pricing information on the website is limited. If you wish to access general stock and ETF information please do this via our external link or through another stock data provider.
- Intraday Trading
Intraday trading generally tries to generate return with quickly buy and sell securities. To provide solid long-term profits with such a trading strategy is difficult and expensive. We believe that sustainable returns have to be invested at least medium-term. That means buying and selling over multiple days. Therefore we have decided to not allow intraday trading for the time being. All transactions are consolidated and processed in the evening of each trading day.
- Percent instead of number of securities
The first step towards a financial expert is the thinking in percentage. Stocks and funds have different prices and each purchase should be executed in relation to the total assets. A purchase of e.g. 1’000 UBS stocks weights less on total assets than a purchase of 1’000 Holcim stocks. Therefore we show all transactions in percentage so that a detailed and transparent view of the investments in relation to the total assets is available at any times.
- Denomination and minimum purchases
Currently we work with virtual portfolios. This enables us to purchase stock sizes that are not available on the market in the same size. This method allows us to universally compare the achievements of individuals. If a person tries to implement the same trades with a lower asset volume it may not be possible to implement completely.
- No advisory service
Our service is free and virtual. It can be seen as a trading game that may provide ideas. These ideas are not implemented as such. Therefore the ideas of the chakaa experts may lead to harsh set-backs. In addition it has to be clear that an expert can change his or her strategy or that the expert does not even pursuit the indicated strategy. We therefore do not advice investors not to implement a real portfolio. Certainly not if an investor does not have the skills, knowledge, time and accuracy to implement a strategy.

- How do I find the „right / best“ expert?
For the search of the experts each investor can verify the key figures, strategy and risk. In addition chakaa calculates an IQ-figure for every expert on a daily basis (see term “chakaa-IQ”). The chakaa-IQ enables investors to understand the risk/return ratio of the expert. In addition chakaa provides a follower functionality that allows investors to track transactions and strategies of their favorite experts. After you add an expert you can see the expert in your watch list.
- Why should I sign up?
With the free sign up you gain access to the chakaa portal including a broad range of information and services. In addition chakaa provides functionalities such as chakaa expert (see how can I become an expert), chakaa investor (see How do I become an investor) and the chakaa follower functionality (see watch list and follower).
